Technology has changed the world along with the English language. “Unfriend” beat out a tech-heavy field that included “netbook,” “hashtag,” and “sexting” for the New Oxford American Dictionary word of the year for 2009. Now, delayed satisfaction has gone the way of the dinosauer, and if you spend more time with your devices than with your friends or family, maybe it’s time to unfriend technology!

Unplugging is easier said than done. Yesterday, we talked about boomers taking timeouts from our virtual world and how difficult it is to stop the world and get off, even briefly.
