Baby joy that you can almost touch!

World renowned award-winning photographer, author, philanthropist, wife, mother, and yes baby boomer extraordinaire, the magnificent Anne Geddes was born in Queensland, Australia in 1956.  While a teen, she pored over magazines fascinated by the concept of a single still image capturing an exact moment in time, and began taking hundreds of photographs to record her day-to-day adventures.  Infused with the entrepreneurial spirit, she opened and closed a small retail clothing store, met and married Kel Geddes, and launched a small personalized greeting card business.  Next, Anne and Kel sold the first Anne Geddes calendar door-to-door from the back of their car which allowed them to donate $20,000 to help prevent child abuse; and then, Anne’s first book Down in the Garden was published. This led to an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, which resulted in the world falling in love with Anne Geddes.

The Geddes Philanthropic Trust was founded in 1998. Her desire is that her imagery will help to create a strong platform of hope and promise for humanity and the future. Their website was launched a year later. Reflecting her years of experience with new babies and conversations with more than 2,000 mothers, the Geddes couple launched Anne Geddes Baby, a collection of elegant and timeless clothing and accessories. Then the couple christened the first Anne Geddes retail store in Anaheim, CA.

Two years ago, an exhibition of bird’s nests inspired her to bring out her camera. This resulted in the newly published book Beginnings. We boomers are grateful for bird’s nests and Ms. Geddes’ creative eye! Today, her award-winning images and books have been published worldwide.
