“We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives… not looking for flaws, but for potential.” – Ellen Goodman

“I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me.” – Anaïs Nin

Boomers have always been that way – aware of potential – and look how far we’ve come. We believed we could change the world, and boy, have we. We still believe we can make a difference and most of us are out there doing just that.

Take some time to reflect on your life, the things that give you pleasure, the things that you look forward to over the next few years. Plan for those things. Goal setting is all about realizing potential. Over this next week, we will explore some best practices for setting goals and reaching them.

Happy 2011 – bring it on!
