Since the first Thanksgiving Proclamation was made in 1675, Americans have traditionally taken the 4th Thursday of each November as a holiday. As well as celebrating Thanksgiving today with family and friends, we are also celebrating our second year of existence.

The American custom is to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for while consuming enormous amount of food and drink. But, there are others not so fortunate and community service in our own backyard is just as important on Thanksgiving. We baby boomers, known as the give back generation, will volunteer to distribute food at the local food bank, homeless shelter, senior center and church. We’ll visit a lonely person at an assisted living center, hospital or anywhere there is a need. Enlist the family’s help, and make this part of your family tradition, as well.

We are thankful that you are reading our blog and reviews, and we wish you all a joyous Thanksgiving!
