News update from our uberboomer, Ben Davis

Today a major art installation on which Ben’s been working–PI IN THE SKY– goes live over the San Francisco Bay Area. The work is being featured as part of the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial.

Pi In The Sky will skywrite the first 1,000 numbers of Pi’s infinite sequence in a 150-mile long path. It will take about two hours to complete and will represent the largest ephemeral art installation ever. (see press release below)

If you live anywhere in the Bay Area, we encourage you to take a long outdoor lunch today and experience the work. The weather looks perfect and we very much hope you can make time to be with the piece for a while. Please invite friends and colleagues and help spread the word. Ben’s also am asking for your help in recording this unprecedented event:  Please have cameras ready and help him document the moment:
